Timing is everything......

Went to bed last night with a bit of a headache - woke up this morning with half my face inflated like a barrage balloon.

I have an abscess in my gum - the result of ignoring a broken tooth (cos I'm a scaredy cat when it comes to dentists) and now I have the look of someone furtively stuffing her face and not so furtively storing said stuffing in the side of my mouth.  The dentist won't see me and remove the tooth until the swelling has gone down - so that'll likely be Monday - and the doctor has given me an antibiotic jab today and some sooper dooper antibiotics and pain killers to have over the weekend.  The pain killers could have 1 of 2 side-effects - they can make me hyper or they can make me sleepy.  I rarely take painkillers - certainly not sooper dooper ones - so I don't know what to expect.

I have my first market tomorrow morning.

I'm going to look like a rabid squirrel storing her nuts for winter (at best) or comatose under my display table and hoping my bestie can cope with what we hope is an onslaught of buyers.

So if you're coming to Red Hill Market tomorrow, I'm just saying that it's the painkillers - whichever way it goes.....or I go.........

  2. Eek!! Your poor thing! Don't be too worried about the market, maybe everyone will just think you're one of those loopy creative types and like your goodies even more!

  3. What horrible timing. Fingers crossed you make it through the weekend without too much misery, and the market is still a huge success.

  9. Oh no! I hope the swelling goes down and the pain goes soon. I'm also a complete scaredy-cat when it comes to my teeth so the last time I went to the dentist I kept repeating 'It'll be fine' and promised myself £10 to spend on anything I wanted if I could make it through the appointment without asking the dentist to stop. Guess what? I made it through 40 minutes in the chair without a break when I've never been able to make it through a scale and polish before! I hope the market is a huge success!!

  10. Oh no, I am so sorry to hear this!! Although...I must admit I laughed but at your stories and images, not at your pain! The image of you as a rabid squirrel is too funny! I hope you feel better soon and have a successful market!

  13. It's almost worth flying to Melb. so I can come to the markets to see the result.
I do hope the swelling goes down quickly and the antibiotics don't have any side effects for you.

And now I'm thinking I should finally make an appt with the dentist for my broken tooth (like you, I hate dentists)
